THE AGREEMENT

TERMS OF USE

These Terms establish the rules for accessing Hater Rater, submitting material, voting, and participating in the community.
Effective August 14, 2026 · Attorney review recommended before unrestricted public submissions.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By accessing or using Hater Rater, you agree to these Terms and the linked policies. You must be at least 18 years old to submit a case, evidence, rebuttal, dispute, or copyright complaint. If you act for a business, you represent that you are authorized to do so.

2. What Hater Rater is

Hater Rater presents selected reviews, rebuttals, and supporting context for public discussion and entertainment. Community votes express opinion only. They are not findings of fact, legal rulings, professional advice, or proof that any person acted properly or improperly.

3. Your submissions

You retain ownership of material you submit. You grant Hater Rater a worldwide, nonexclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, reproduce, redact, anonymize, edit for length and clarity, format, display, distribute, promote, and create audiovisual or social-media versions of that material in connection with Hater Rater.

You represent that your submission is based on firsthand knowledge or authentic business records, is materially accurate to the best of your knowledge, does not omit information intended to create a misleading impression, and does not violate another person’s privacy, confidentiality, publicity, intellectual-property, or other rights.

4. Editorial control

Hater Rater may verify, reject, edit, label, delay, restrict, correct, archive, or remove material at any time. Submission does not guarantee publication. We may request supporting information and may decline to explain an editorial decision where doing so could compromise safety, privacy, security, or an investigation.

5. Prohibited conduct

Do not submit doxxing, threats, harassment, hate speech, sexual or exploitative content, confidential records, financial or identity credentials, medical information, information about minors, fabricated evidence, impersonation, malware, spam, coordinated vote manipulation, or content you lack the right to provide.

6. Voting and community participation

Votes may be limited by device, session, network, or other anti-abuse controls. We may discard automated, duplicate, purchased, coordinated, or otherwise manipulated activity. Published percentages may change as invalid activity is removed.

7. Disputes and corrections

If you are depicted, quoted, or materially affected by a case, use the Report a Concern process. We may temporarily restrict content while reviewing a credible complaint. Good-faith reporting is protected; abusive or knowingly false notices may be rejected.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hater Rater disclaims implied warranties and does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy of user-submitted material, a particular voting outcome, publication, removal, or preservation of any submission.

9. Limitation and responsibility

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hater Rater is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of the service or third-party content. Submitters are responsible for the material they provide and agree to cooperate in resolving credible claims arising from it. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these Terms prospectively and will post the effective date. These Terms are governed by Massachusetts law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise. No arbitration or class-action waiver is imposed by this draft.
